Administrative Assistant

Do you love Palo Alto, have great administrative skills and want to be part of a key local news organization? The Palo Alto Weekly is seeking a temporary, part-time administrative assistant to join our editorial team and help us accomplish our journalistic mission.

We're looking for a professional with outstanding organizational skills to manage work related to our community calendar, letters to the editor, police reports, obituaries and more. The following qualities are desired:

  • Fluency in G Suite, Open Office, Adobe Acrobat
  • The ability to learn new online systems quickly
  • Superior copy-editing skills, following the AP Stylebook
  • Attention to detail, commitment to accuracy
  • Flexibility and ability to take direction
  • Can-do attitude, team orientation, ability to solve problems as needed
  • Superior verbal communication skills, combined with a diplomatic nature
  • Commitment to the Weekly's journalistic mission
  • Punctuality.
